Portland, Ore., April 20, 2004 -- Stormwater Management Inc. (SMI) has added a new regional manager.

Andrea Corwin Pinabell brings more than 10 years' experience in the stormwater and ground water industry. She joins Keith Gardner at SMI's Atlanta office, providing sales and regulatory support for customers throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, and Tennessee.

Pinabell was most recently senior engineer and stormwater/water quality team leader at URS, an engineering firm. In addition, she owned an engineering consulting firm, and assisted the Georgia Environmental Protection Department in writing the Georgia Industrial and Construction Stormwater National Pollution Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) permits. Pinabell holds a degree in chemical engineering and environmental science from Iowa State University.

"With her extensive knowledge of the water industry and environmental background, Andrea will be a valuable resource to regulators, engineers and contractors throughout this region who look for expert guidance in integrating effective and economical BMP stormwater treatment systems," said David Pollock, President and CEO of Stormwater Management Inc.

In accordance with NPDES amendments, the Southeastern states have been developing programs to address stormwater management guidelines for construction, industrial, and municipal separate storm systems. Under NPDES Phase II, all municipalities with a population over 50,000 must have a Storm Water Management Plan.

"Engineers, developers and municipalities are eager to learn about the most advanced filtration technology to meet stormwater regulations," said Pinabell. "I look forward to working closely with our customers in the Southeast to provide the best solutions for their needs."
