USFilter has announced it will donate the time of its field engineers to assist hurricane-ravaged communities in North Carolina. These water experts will offer help in restoring water and wastewater treatment facilities damaged during Hurricane Floyd.

According to Ken Fuller, southeastern regional manager for the company, the offer is a response to reports that water systems are contaminated. In addition, it helps fulfill a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) call for volunteers. According to FEMA, more than 2 million people in the area have been directly affected by the devastation, and communities are facing serious health concerns resulting from the damages to their water systems.

?USFilter has amassed the most skilled experts in the industry, and we are proud to offer their time to assist these communities,? said Fuller.

Municipalities can contact USFilter?s Relief Effort Coordinator Alan Houtz at 205-951-6541 to enlist the help of the company?s field engineers. The company plans to help municipalities in assessing each community?s water situation and will deploy appropriate experts.
