Sept. 18, 2003 -- On behalf of UNESCO, the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, based in Delft, and the Resource Centre for Urban Water Management (RCUWM), based in Tehran, are carrying out a regional study entitled 'Problem Assessment and Strategic Planning on Urban Water Management', focusing on the Middle East and Central Asian states.
This study aims to identify major urban issues in the municipalities in these regions, and to define the appropriate urban strategies required to support sustainable development of these municipalities.
In order to encourage comprehensive and representative findings, your support by forwarding this URL (http://www.ihe.nl/mui/links/default.htm?/mui/links/urban.htm ) to your relevant contacts, to individuals and organisations in a position to participate in this survey, i.e. civil servants (from municipalities, central governments, etc), water supply and sewerage companies/utilities staff, academics, etc., is very much appreciated.
