pH, ORP transmitter

The Burkert transmitter Type 8202 is a compact and modular device specially designed for measuring the pH or ORP value of fluids. The transmitter houses a replaceable and standard 120 mm pH or ORP probe screwed in a sensor holder with an integrated Pt1000 temperature sensor. Due to its modular and standard design, customers are now allowed to use any standard pH electrode from the numerous suppliers available. The compact transmitter has integrated PT1000 temperature sensors incorporated for required temperature compensation; the electronics of the Type 8202 can transmit both temperature and the desired analytical value simultaneously.

Catchment forecasting

Innovyze has announced the release of ICMLive for real-time operational forecasting of urban and rural catchments. The release provides water utilities with timely, accurate forecasts of what will happen within a catchment, based on past and current observations of a multitude of parameters along with future rainfall predictions. The product combines the comprehensive integrated catchment modeling capabilities of InfoWorks ICM with real-time operational forecasting, early warning, and emergency management. The system enables managers and operators to consider the influence of a full range of catchment factors in the management of flooding and the reduction of unregulated discharges.

Aerators

Aqua-Jet aerator, Model SS-PW, from Aqua-Aerobic Systems have received NSF 61 approval for potable water applications. The system can be used to strip out disinfection byproducts that produce trihalomethanes. It can help municipalities comply with the 80 μg/L locational running annual average limit specified in the EPA Stage 2 Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts Rule through air stripping. The approval includes multiple sizes and can be used for TTHM stripping applications or circulation in potable water treatment systems and reservoirs with a minimum volume of 100,000 gallons.

Gas shutoff

Halogen Valve's Terminator emergency shutoff system sequentially closes 150 lb. cylinder valves containing toxic gas in less than five seconds when activated from remote sensors and switches. The operator is then required to correct the condition before manually reopening the valve to restart the system. The Gemini controller has a self-contained battery system that operates the motorized closing mechanism even during a power failure. The latest Fire Codes recognize and approve the shutoff system in lieu of scrubber treatment systems.
