Company to Display NSF Approved Control Valves
Bermad's 700 Series Automatic Control Valves - recently certified to NSF 61 - and 900 Series Metering valves will be exhibited at the 2001 American Water Works Association Exhibition and Conference.
Bermad is a supplier of water management products for a wide range of applications in municipal water works, agricultural, industrial and fire protection systems. Its products range from pilot operated automatic control valves for pressure, flow and level control to automatic metering valves; direct acting regulators; electric solenoids and air and vacuum release valves.
The 700 Series Automatic Control Valves are hydraulically operated, diaphragm actuated globe valves available in either oblique (Y) or angle pattern design. The valve is comprised of two major components: the body/seat assembly and the actuator assembly.
The actuator assembly is completely unitized and removable from the body as a single unit, allowing for in-line inspection of the seat and seal disc. The standard actuator assembly contains both a lower and upper control chamber that provides positive accurate control and greater application flexibility. The center-guided design eliminates the need for a bottom bearing support, provides a seat area with no obstructions and allows the use of Bermad's V-Port throttling plug for low flow and high differential pressure applications.
The 700 Series Valves are used as pressure reducing, pressure relief, pump control, float and altitude valves. The cast and ductile iron valves are available in sizes 11/2" through 24" and are now certified to ANSI - NSF Standard 61 - Drinking Water System Components - Health Effects. The series now meets the legislation, regulation or policies citing ANSI-NSF compliance that currently exists in 43 states.
Bermad's 900 Series Hydrometers integrate a vertical turbine water meter and a pilot operated, diaphragm actuated hydraulic control valve in a single valve body. This unique combination saves weight and space and provides a full spectrum of metering functions - from simple visual readout through pulse output for computerized data capture and control - while simultaneously allowing for numerous control valve operations such as remote on/off and/or accurate and reliable pressure, flow and level control. In sizes from 11/2" through 8", the 900 Series Hydrometers have been used in metering and control applications throughout the world.
Bermad is introducing two significant enhancements to its 900 Series. The new magnetic drive 900 Series Hydrometer magnetically couples the vertical turbine impeller and the vacuum-sealed meter register in the control head. Both the magnetic drive control head and the register are hermetically sealed to prevent dirty water intrusion. In even the most severe installations, both of these critical elements remain dry and operational. Also new is the availability of two modes of pulse generating - reed switch and an infrared optical pulse generator - which make the 900 Series compatible with virtually all computerized control systems.
The series is used extensively in computerized irrigation systems in municipal parks and green belts, wellhead control, flow monitoring and leakage control applications and batch control systems.
Bermad products meet all applicable AWWA, ANSI, and ASTM specifications and standards.
