DENVER, CO, June 2, 2015 -- CH2M, a global engineering firm specializing in government, industrial, infrastructure, and energy programs, recently announced that it has appointed Dr. David Parry to its Global Water Business Group, who will serve as a key senior fellow technologist and vice president (VP) on the firm's Global Wastewater service team. Parry, who will be located in CH2M's Bellevue, Wash., office, has built a national and international reputation for providing proven innovative solutions in wastewater, biosolids and energy.
In his new role, Parry will primarily serve as a senior technology consultant and project manager on projects that include anaerobic digestion, co-digestion, co-generation, and thermal hydrolysis technologies, in which he is a leader in the industry. He brings more than 35 years of experience in planning and design experience providing program management and construction and operational assistance for wastewater treatment, solids processing and energy projects. He also brings expertise in effluent heat recovery, pyrolysis, gasification, and combustion to CH2M's consulting services.
Most recently, Parry was a senior VP and technical strategy leader at CDM Smith, responsible for its biosolids and energy-recovery practice, and was actively involved as a project director, technical advisor and project manager on numerous municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plant projects throughout the world and predominately in the United States and Canada. Prior to working at CDM Smith, he served as the Northwest Public Practice leader for Kennedy/Jenks Consultant and as VP at Brown and Caldwell.
Parry is a board-certified environmental engineer with the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and is a registered mechanical and civil engineer in several states and provinces in North America. He earned his Bachelor and Master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University and his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Parry served as the chair of the Bioenergy Technology Subcommittee of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) Residuals and Biosolids Committee. He was also the lead author of the anaerobic digestion chapter in the WEF/Environmental Protection Agency Solids Process Design and Management Manual. In addition, he served as principal investigator for several Water Environment Research Foundation's co-digestion research projects.
