AMERSFOOT, THE NETHERLANDS, June 23, 2015 -- Under a new partnership agreement signed by Dutch Water Authorities (DWA), an international organization comprising 23 regional water authorities in the Netherlands, and Royal HaskoningDHV, an international engineering and project management consultancy, DWA will offer its support for the startup of wastewater treatment plants abroad that use Royal's Nereda® technology.
The agreement, signed on Monday, June 22, has paved the way for Dutch regional water authorities to -- for the first time -- use their knowledge and expertise internationally on such a profitable scale for a single company.
DWA will work on new Nereda plants in Brazil, Australia and South Africa, among others. Meanwhile in the Republic of Ireland, the first joint startup is underway. Meinard Eekhof of regional water authority Waterschap Vechtstromen was part of the Royal HaskoningDHV team during the startup of the Nereda wastewater treatment plant in the Irish town of Clonakilty.
