BUFORD, GA, Feb. 1, 2015 -- AdEdge Water Technologies, a specialist in the design, development, manufacturing, and supply of water treatment solutions, announced that it has been awarded a contract to implement its biotttaTM biologically tailored, two-stage treatment approach for a nitrate removal project in the city of Delano, Calif.
Delano, a community of 38,000 residents, is located in the San Joaquin Valley approximately 30 miles north of Bakersfield. The current levels of nitrate are not compliant with the California drinking water standard of 45 mg/L nitrate as NO3. The biotttatechnology is a treatment process that uses naturally-occurring bacteria to eliminate multiple contaminants from groundwater rather than creating harmful waste streams typically found in ion exchange and reverse osmosis applications.
AdEdge will design and manufacture a biottta treatment package rated for a maximum flow of 1 million gallons per day. The treatment module consists of a vertical pressure vessel acting as a bioreactor and a second vertical pressure vessel serving as a biofilter. This simple and easy-to-operate treatment process is an ideal solution for small communities out of compliance with federal and state drinking water regulations.
