PARSIPPANY, NJ, Jan. 16, 2006 -- The Hydraulic Institute (HI) on Dec. 15 announced the release of its newest version of "ANSI/HI Pump Standards on CD-ROM." Version 2.0 contains the full text of all ANSI/HI Standards, and features several enhanced search and navigation features.

"Now with 1,500+ pages of content and 26 Standards, in a single-user CD-ROM format, this product is a must have for anyone involved with pumps or pumping systems," explained Gregg Romanyshyn, technical director for HI.

Romanyshyn noted the inclusion of four landmark ANSI/HI Standards, new for Version 2.0:
Effects of Liquid Viscosity on Rotodynamic Pump Performance Standard -- replaces 40+ year old HI viscosity correction nomographs; was developed to predict the performance change of rotodynamic pumps operated on viscous liquids relative to their performance on water. (ANSI/HI 9.6.7)
Rotodynamic (Centrifugal) Slurry Pump Standard (including Slurry Pump Test) -- includes slurry pump types, types of slurries, slurry limitations, slurry solids' effect on pumps, pump froth, pump wear and applications. (ANSI/HI 12.1-12.6)
Air-Operated Pump Standard -- includes positive displacement reciprocating pumps used for general fluid transfer, which are driven by means of a compressed gas. (ANSI/HI 10.1-10.5)
Air-Operated Pump Test Standard -- provides uniform procedures for mechanical and other pump performance testing and for recording the test results of air-operated diaphragm and bellows pumps. (ANSI/HI 10.6)

In addition to expanded content, Version 2.0 includes a variety of convenient navigation features. To find specific information, users can search the extensive Master Index, or click a hyperlink in the Index or Table of Contents in any individual Standard to jump directly to the desired page. In addition, all Standards are in Adobe® Acrobat® format, allowing users to utilize bookmarks, annotations, printing, and multiple page views.

ANSI/HI Pump Standards on CD-ROM Version 2.0, HI product code CD2005, is available from the Hydraulic Institute at a reduced price, with discounts available for volume purchases. For more information, visit the HI e-Store at www.pumps.org.

HI Pump Standards are reliable, widely accepted references for anyone involved in pumps, including users, consultants, contractors, construction firms, and manufacturers of pumps, seals, motors, instrumentation, controls, and pump systems integrators. HI periodically introduces new Standards based on industry needs.

The 88-year old Hydraulic Institute, the largest association of pump producers in North America, serves member companies and pump users worldwide by developing comprehensive industry Standards, expanding knowledge by providing education and tools, and serving as a forum for the exchange of industry information.
