PARSIPPANY, NJ, June 26, 2007 -- The Pump Systems Guide Committee, a joint-committee from the Pump Systems Matter™ (PSM) educational initiative and the Hydraulic Institute (HI), announced today that it is seeking interested and qualified parties to conduct a peer review of "Optimizing Pump Systems: A Guide to Improved Energy Efficiency, Reliability, and Profitability" throughout summer 2007.
"Optimizing Pumping Systems: A Guide to Improved Energy Efficiency, Reliability, and Profitability" is intended to be an authoritative reference that will focus on improving the design, operation, and reliability of both new and existing pumping systems. Reviewers will be credited in the book's "Acknowledgements" section and will be expected to review and comment on the submitted text between August and the end of September 2007. "Optimizing Pumping Systems" is expected to be published during the first quarter of 2008.
As a companion piece to "Optimizing Pumping Systems," Pump Systems Matter will present "People Do the Darndest Things to Pumps!" This document will be a collection of anonymously contributed stories from reputable pump industry professionals that show common mistakes pump users make when designing, running or maintaining systems. Often times, these mistakes lead to wasted energy, production losses, excessively high maintenance costs, and safety and environmental concerns. By providing details of their stories, contributors will help the many industries that use pumping systems become more efficient and productive.
