New Jersey American Water has announced the launch of its "Capture the Rain" raffle on Facebook, taking place throughout the summer.

VOORHEES, NJ, May 18, 2015 -- New Jersey American Water (NJAW) -- a subsidiary of American Water, the nation's largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company -- has announced the launch of its "Capture the Rain" raffle on Facebook, taking place throughout the summer.

NJAW created the contest to help raise awareness of water conservation and provide participants an opportunity to save water by collecting rainwater they can use for irrigation and landscaping purposes. The organization will choose one individual per month to win a rain barrel they can keep and use to contribute to the cause.

"New Jersey American Water has always advised our customers to use water wisely," said Peter Eschbach, NJAW director of communications and external affairs. "With the Capture the Rain contest, we're encouraging our customers to also use the rain wisely. Storing rainwater as an additional source of irrigation really comes in handy during hot, dry weather periods and can save a homeowner money as well."

To enter the raffle, New Jersey residents must first "Like" NJAW's Facebook page (here) and fill out an entry form. Entrants may earn more chances to win by sharing or tweeting about the contest to their friends and/or followers.
