BOSTON, MA, May 22, 2015 -- The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection announced that the City of Gloucester, City of Lynn and Town of Sturbridge public water systems -- three municipal community partners of Veolia, an international water, waste and energy management company -- have received awards for recent achievements and superior performance in 2014.
"Though diverse in their size and scope, the public water systems in Gloucester, Lynn and Sturbridge reflect a strong commitment made by each community to the quality treatment of our most precious resource: water," said Vincent Martin, senior vice president, Northeast region for Veolia North America's Municipal and Commercial Business.
"Veolia North America is proud to serve as the operations, maintenance and management (O&M) partner to these communities, helping achieve superior drinking water quality, compliance and safety," he continued.
- Gloucester DPW Water Department: With its recent completion of $35 million in infrastructure improvements, the City of Gloucester received a 'Recognition Award', acknowledging its commitment to maintaining high-quality drinking water and improving its public water system.
- Sturbridge Water Department: Underscoring its exceptional performance in 2014, Sturbridge was awarded with a 'Medium and Large Community' award, acknowledging the town's commitment to compliance and the quality of its public water system.
- Lynn Water and Sewer Commission — The City of Lynn was also awarded a 'Medium and Large Community' award for its excellent drinking water compliance record in the last year.
