Feb. 25, 2015 -- Tonkin Consulting, an infrastructure and environmental consulting organization located in South Australia (SA), recently announced that it has appointed Neil Palmer to serve as principal water engineer at the company's head office in the city of Adelaide.
Palmer is the chief executive officer of the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination Australia, which he is now fulfilling in a part-time capacity. He brings four decades of water industry experience working for governmental and private water utilities and regulators, in the scope of international development and water research.
Palmer is well-known internationally, having been a director of the International Desalination Association for eight years and recently voted No. 1 in Water and Wastewater International's survey of 25 world water industry leaders (see "Celebrating the Water Industry's 25 High Fliers").
"I have long admired Tonkin Consulting as a South Australian firm with a great reputation for integrity and technical excellence," said Palmer. Palmer's extensive knowledge and connections will help Tonkin Consulting develop practical and affordable water solutions for domestic and international markets. Leveraging Australia's experience to develop offshore capabilities is what Palmer is passionate about.
