• Patented CoMag™ ballasted clarification technology will reduce effluent TP to 0.1 mg/L with proven ability to meet future TP limits of < 0.05 mg/L

CAMBRIDGE, MA, Nov. 4, 2009 -- Cambridge Water Technology, a leader in innovative solutions for the water treatment industry, has been awarded a contract to install its proprietary CoMag tertiary treatment technology to reduce phosphorus to less than 0.1 mg/L in the effluent of the Maynard, MA, wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).

Prior to the contract award, CWT piloted its CoMag technology at Maynard and demonstrated its consistent ability to achieve effluent less than 0.1mg/L under all flow and load conditions and without the need for quaternary media filtration. The pilot effort also demonstrated - and CWT has now guaranteed to Maynard - that CoMag will consistently deliver < 0.05 mg/L effluent Phosphorus when such limits are imposed.

In implementing CoMag, Maynard will meet its current and all likely future permit limits relating to Phosphorus and greatly enhance the quality of the Town's discharge into the Assabet River.

Maynard joins the Massachusetts Towns of Concord, Billerica, Sturbridge and Charlton that are embracing CoMag as the technology of choice for effluent Phosphorus control and reduction.

Cambridge Water Technology designs and manufactures high performance, low cost solutions for the treatment of industrial and municipal wastewater and the production of process water. The company's patented technologies, CoMagTM and BioMagTM provide the next generation of high capacity solids removal and biological treatment by delivering enhanced contaminant removal systems that can readily and reliably meet the strictest permit levels for Phosphorus, BOD/COD, Nitrogen, TSS, many metals, and pathogens at a fraction of the capital and operating cost of conventional alternatives.
