KIBBUTZ AMIAD, Israel, Nov. 8, 2010 -- Amiad Filtration Systems (LSE: AFS) (www.amiad.com ), a global provider of innovative water filtration technologies, announced today that the high pressure filtration system for the irrigation installation it built for the Mei Gat- Lower Galilee Water Cooperative Society, Ltd. is now fully operational. The new system will provide secondary treatment filtration of wastewater for use in irrigation across Northern Israel.

The Mei Gat system is unique in that it has to provide clean water for irrigation over a wide spread area as well as provide filtration for water at a pressure of 25 bar. Most systems do not require more than 5 or 6 bar.

"The filters in the Mei Gat system not only have to withstand very high pressure, but they have to simultaneously filter waste water," said Eytan Schleider, Amiad's Head of Marketing for Industry and Water Treatment in Northern Israel. "This presented us with a unique challenge, and we are very proud of the solution we designed. Facilitating the recycling and re-use of waste water, especially in a country like Israel, which faces chronic water shortages, is a responsibility we take quite seriously and we will continue to introduce innovative solutions to help meet this problem."
