SANTA MONICA, CA, Feb. 8, 2010 -- Sionix Corporation, a Santa Monica, CA-based designer and manufacturer of "Safe Water Systems" for commercial, industrial, and public water treatment applications, today announced that the State of Minnesota introduced the 2010 Bonding Bill that provides funding for a water recycling project in the city of Ramsey, MN and the Ramsey Town Center using the Sionix DAF/Elixir Water Treatment System.

The Ramsey project will occur in three phases. In the first phase, a Sionix DAF/Elixir unit will clarify water drawn from an eight-acre lake created as part of the total project and provide potable water to the Ramsey Town Center. The second phase, involving a second Sionix unit, will process waste water to be discharged into the lake, while the third phase will involve a third Sionix unit to filter additional surface water, possibly from the Mississippi River, and to assist the first unit as the Ramsey Town Center grows.

The two additional Sionix water treatment units will be subject to a supplemental appropriation contingent upon the success of the Ramsey Town Center portion of the project.

The Senate bill (SF2360) and a corollary bill (SF0074) have been passed to the Senate Finance Committee where prompt action is anticipated as water recycling bills have broad bi-partisan support in the Minnesota legislative and executive branches. Final approval of this bonding bill will result in a purchase order to Sionix with a value in excess of $1.5 million. With the completion of California Title 22 water standards testing and a treatment system contained in an ISO standard shipping container made Sionix an obvious choice, both at the legislative and engineering phases of the project.

Minnesota State Senator Mike Jungbauer, the company's national legislative liaison, has stated, "This is an issue of common sense. For decades Minnesota has pumped valuable groundwater for single use purposes and then disposed of that water in a watershed that leads to the Atlantic Ocean where it can never be restored for use in Minnesota."

Sionix technology will be used to mimic natural water systems within the city, preserving the valuable groundwater supply within this region of the state and setting a national standard for water recycling throughout North America.

Sionix Chairman/CEO, James R. Currier, and President/CFO, David R. Wells, remarked jointly that this bonding bill and the support documentation designating Sionix as the vendor of choice, combined with the scientific and legislative acuity of Mike Jungbauer, will provide further evidence of the efficacy of the Sionix product and technology at a time when awareness of water and water management issues enjoy an elevated status among many constituencies, both public and private.

About SIONIX
Based in Santa Monica, CA, Sionix designs innovative and advanced water treatment systems intended for use in defense, government facilities, and emergency water supplies during natural disasters, housing development projects, and various industrial processes. These systems can be used to remove salt, oil, waste and other infectious bacteria from contaminated resources. They are also used as pre-treatment for reverse osmosis and other membrane applications. Industries involved in dairy, agribusiness, meat processing, bottling water, mining, poultry operations, and many others can benefit from a cost-effective, easily maintained, portable water treatment system provided by Sionix. Sionix specializes in the treatment of water contaminated through the process of subterranean fracturing used by oil and gas drillers, locating Sionix units adjacent to drilling sites to eliminate expensive, unnecessary public exposure to toxic waste products by transporting contaminated wastewater to remote locales for treatment. Using our patented dissolved air flotation ("DAF") technology packaged in a mobile shipping container, we create bubbling dynamics that elevate organic contaminants to the surface where 99.95% are skimmed off.
