Silent Check Valves

Protecting your system from reverse flow is critical for system integrity. A commonly used wafer style valve is your system’s best ally. Flomatic’s family of silent check valves include the patented wafer style model 888VFD (in stainless steel or ductile iron) . These silent check valves are designed to minimize flow losses and hydraulic shocks in the pump system.

The patented spring loaded poppet system is guided in an oversized sleeve for stability resulting in quiet and efficient operation regardless of flow rate. In addition, the valve design provides fast closure which helps prevent check valve slam and alleviate water hammer.

A key feature of Flomatic’s patented design is its ability to be close coupled with a butterfly valve in an “open” or “closed” position with no interference. The overall installation length is much shorter than a traditional combination of a wafer style check valve, butterfly valve, and spool piece.

A traditional wafer check valve cannot be close coupled with a butterfly valve without a spacer or spool piece, longer bolts and additional flange gaskets. This spool piece adds weight, takes up more space, parts and installation expense.

From an operator’s perspective, Flomatic’s design also saves time when servicing the pump and line.
