Arsenic treatment

AdEdge Water Technologies offers multiple water treatment solutions rated from 5 gpm to over 12 MGD to meet your arsenic treatment needs. Options include: adsorption using granular ferric oxide media, coagulation/filtration with iron augmentation, and oxidation/filtration. AdEdge offers a line of packaged, pre-engineered APU systems and a line of modular treatment systems that arrive unassembled, ready for hook-up when they are installed on site. These solutions can incorporate the absorption, oxidation/filtration, and/or coagulation/filtration treatment processes with pre- and post-treatment for a complete integrated system.

Aeration for wastewater treatment

The SmartAerator™ Tornado® from Fluence Corporation provides up to 50 percent annual energy savings for wastewater treatment facilities. It automatically regulates aeration levels and remotely monitors the wastewater processing performance of the Tornado aerator. This proprietary technology is a system of controls, sensors and variable frequency drives designed to significantly reduce the amount of energy required to aerate wastewater. Uniquely designed for the Tornado aerator, this technology is sold as a retrofit kit or with new aerators. Ideal projects are those that require large horsepower aerators and projects with multiple aerators where energy savings would be significant.

Grinder pump

The N.Mac™ Twin Shaft Grinder from NETZSCH is designed to fragment a variety of materials and is ideal for wastewater treatment and industrial applications. Available in both channel and inline (flanged) housing construction, the N.Mac can be installed into effluent channels or upstream from a pump. The cartridge design features a leak-free combination of mechanical seal and bearing cartridges, enabling quick and simple replacement and servicing.

Explosion-proof smoke detectors

The Det-Tronics® SmokeWatch™ U5015 explosion-proof smoke detector can be used to meet NFPA 820 fire protection standards specific to wastewater treatment and collection facilities. SmokeWatch U5015 detectors utilize advanced photoelectric smoke detection technology not generally available in explosion-proof housings. The detectors are rated for the Class I Division 1 & 2 locations found in industrial and municipal wastewater applications. The detectors also carry FM 3230 certification for smoke detection and are suitable for indoor and outdoor environments. SmokeWatch U5015 detectors integrate with fire alarm systems for evacuation alerts.

Density measurement

The Dynatrol® Density System offers accurate measurement of density, specific gravity, percent solids or percent concentration in-line or in vessels. The Density cells come in a full range of corrosion-resistant materials that are both weathertight and explosion-proof. They also serve broad temperature and pressure ratings with no moving parts for long operating life. The Dynatrol® Digital Density CL10HY Converter has an on-board microcontroller and arrives ready to use on your application with no programming on your part. A two-line LCD displays temperature, density, corrected gravity, product frequency and status.

Filtration technology

Specialty chemicals company LANXESS is expanding its range of membrane elements for reverse osmosis (RO). The new Lewabrane RO ULP line has three product grades available immediately for water treatment. They display higher water permeability than the standard elements while offering the similar high level of rejection of critical substances. The operating pressure required in the pressure vessel is 40 percent lower, which reduces operating costs. Furthermore, the new membranes are a good option for removing trace elements from wastewater and drinking water.

Granular sludge system now in U.S., Canada

Following more than a decade of successful application worldwide, the AquaNereda® Aerobic Granular Sludge System from Aqua-Aerobic is now available in the United States and Canada. This advanced biological treatment technology utilizes the unique features of aerobic granular biomass including superior settling properties when compared to conventional activated sludge. Additional advantages translate into a flexible, compact, and energy-efficient process.
