SENECA FALLS, NY, Nov. 19, 2015 -- ITT Corporation's (NYSE: ITT) Goulds Pumps, Bornemann, and PRO Services brands are launching the fifth annual World of Pumps Quiz, an online pump knowledge game that has attracted contestants from more than 150 countries. The latest version of the quiz began Nov. 17 and will run until midnight on April 2, 2016.

The new edition of the World of Pumps Quiz will feature a new question every week that includes interactive elements, such as expert videos, infographics and product simulations. Question topics range from pump history and design to best maintenance practices and smart pumping technologies.

The World of Pumps Quiz is the kick-off event leading up to the annual Pump Appreciation Day industry celebration. Observed on the second Tuesday in April, Pump Appreciation Day recognizes pumps as "the heart of industry" and features awards highlighting outstanding organizations and industry professionals across the globe. These two major pump industry events are now joined together as one as the World of Pumps Quiz is now on the Pump Appreciation Day website

"We are excited to offer a new question each week to provide a challenge to industry professionals who pride themselves on the technical knowledge behind their equipment," said John Manna, vice president of Global Marketing for ITT's Industrial Process business. "We're pleased to celebrate pumps of all kinds, reminding us that they truly do serve as the heart of industry."

To enter the quiz, participants can go to and click on the most recent question right from the homepage. Quiz-takers can sign up to receive automatic notifications when the next basic question is posted. Over the course of the quiz, participants can answer as many or as few questions as they like.
