HIGHLAND PARK, IL, March 13, 2003 -- The Submersible Wastewater Pump Association (SWPA) is offering free copies of its 2003 Membership Roster and Product Reference Guide to consulting engineers, designers, specifiers, installers, distributors, service shops and others interested in submersible wastewater lift stations.

"The publication was developed as a submersible wastewater lift station users' and specifiers' guide to the members of the Submersible Wastewater Pump Association and the products they manufacture and sell," said Chuck Stolberg, the Association's Executive Director. "It includes basic industry information as well as general information about the organization and its programs, services and technical resources."

The 80-page SWPA Membership Roster and Product Reference Guide includes SWPA member company listings by membership category: Regular Members who are pump manufacturers and Associate Members who are manufacturers of component parts and accessory items for submersible sewage pumping systems. Each member listing included complete contact information as well as Product Codes listing the categories of pumps and component parts and accessories each member company manufactures and sells.

"The publication also includes information on the history and evolution of the submersible wastewater pump in the United States and how the systems approach optimizes performance; a description of American National Standard for Submersible Pump Tests (ANSI/HI 116.200 I ); SWPA's Standardized Presentation Format for Pump and Motor Characteristics; and information about the Association's Technical Resources," he said.

SWPA is a national trade association representing and serving the manufacturers of
submersible pumps for municipal and industrial wastewater applications. Founded in 1976, the association's primary focus is on industry guidelines, education and promotion.

SWPA's members are the industry's leaders: Regular Members are manufacturers of submersible wastewater pumps (solids-handling, dry pit and grinder pumps) that can efficiently handle solids and grinder pumps. Research indicates that SWPA's member companies ship more than 80 percent of those products in the United States.

Associate members are manufacturers of component parts and accessory products for lift stations. They supply access covers, alternators, basins, cords/cables, control panels, electric motors, guide-rail systems, lift station accessories, phase converters, phase monitors, seals, valves, variable frequency drives and other components and parts to pump manufacturers and the aftermarket.
