ATLANTA, March 26, 2001 — The Jacksonville Electric Authority has contracted with iMedeon for a mobile workforce management application suite.

iMedeon, a provider of wireless Web applications for mobile workforce management, has deployed the iM:Work suite for JEA, one of the largest municipal utilities in the nation, supplying electricity, water, and sewerage services for more 600 thousand customers in the Jacksonville, FL area.

"Throughout the entire implementation process, iMedeon's client services team anticipated and exceeded our expectations," said Ron Baker, JEA's CIO and CFO. "We specifically chose iMedeon because we can easily configure and make changes to the software ourselves as our mobile workforce evolves, versus paying for implementation projects and personnel to make the changes for us. And since iM:Work is Web-based, software support and upgrades are seamless - we can make changes, such as adding new features or changing work order types, without interrupting the productivity of our field workers."

Since iMedeon's software suite is Web-based, the software is highly user-configurable, requires very little customization, and can easily adapt to new technology initiatives, allowing for rapid iM:Work implementation and upgrades.

iM:Work provides a comprehensive view of the entire mobile workforce: Where work crews are located; the work being performed; what tools, parts, and support are needed; what work is on the horizon; and how the crews can be more efficient. iM:Work elevates the traditional dispatcher's role into one that is more strategic, enables companies to transform field forces into better informed customer representatives, and helps turn the mobile workforce into a revenue generator.
