December 4, 2001 — Over 600 attendees from all U.S. states and 20 countries heard Peter Beering open the Water Security Summit today declaring that the threat of a potential attack on our water systems must be seriously considered.
The summit ran Dec. 3-4 in Hartford, Conn.
"There is no such thing as an immune jurisdiction," said Peter Beering as he urged water professionals to make common sense decisions in response to this threat.
Both speakers and attendees explored water system vulnerabilities; discussed guidelines for implementing security plans; and reviewed existing federal, state, and private resources.
