Two new magnetic flow meters, including a battery operated model for remote locations, take advantage of a non-intrusive, open flow tube design plus the option of field verification device that provides performance tests on site.

The M-5000 and M-2000 Mag Meters expand Badger Meter's mag meter portfolio.

The M-5000 Mag Meter is a battery-operated, general purpose detection mag meter in a stand-alone package. Suitable for a wide range of utility and industrial applications, the meter is ideal for remote settings and other applications without access to power. It can be used to measure well water, wastewater, reclaimed water, and bi-directional flow applications that have minimal electrical conductivity.

The meter has no moving parts, low maintenance requirements and a 10-year battery life.

As a battery-driven solution, the M-5000 can be installed virtually anywhere, independent of a power line. The flow detector has no parts in the flow stream, thus preventing pressure loss and keeping maintenance to a minimum, even in less than ideal fluid conditions. Thanks to a sophisticated, processor-based signal conversion, the M-5000 can achieve an accuracy of ±0.5% and a flow range better than 300:1.

The mag meter is comprised of two main components: a detector and amplifier. The M-5000 amplifier can be integrally mounted to the detector, or it can be mounted remotely. Housed in a NEMA 4X (IP66) enclosure, the amplifier targets a variety of applications and is well suited for the diverse water and wastewater treatment industry.

The second addition to the Badger Meter M-Series, the M-2000 delivers precise flow measurement for a variety of applications on potable meter lines, in fluids with suspended solids, and most applications requiring exacting measurement.

As with all Badger Meter electromagnetic meters, the M-2000 is built without any moving parts to impede the flow stream. And because of its processor-based signal conversion, the meter can achieve an accuracy of ±0.25%.

The M-2000 is a general purpose detection mag meter built for field verification testing with the use of a simple, handheld device. The ability to verify mag meters in the field eliminates the need for remote testing and increases the frequency of testing to maintain functionality and accuracy. The wide selection of liner and electrode materials helps to ensure maximum compatibility and minimum maintenance over a long operating period.

Mobile Verification

As a third addition to the mag meter family, the M-Series Field Verification Device is designed for use with the M-2000 and M-5000 mag meters. This compact, handheld tool greatly simplifies the process of field verification testing. It allows the user to perform a series of field verification and analytical performance tests on site and in less than 20 minutes.

Badger Meter offers an extensive line of electromagnetic flow meters available in a wide variety of size configurations, liner materials and connection options, including meters for hazardous Class 1, Division 2 and Division 1 environments.
