Baldor Electric receives Governor's Top Quality Award for operational excellence

This week, the Arkansas Institute for Performance Excellence honored Baldor Electric to receive the Arkansas Governor's Quality Award for Performance Excellence.

FORT SMITH, AR, Sept. 19, 2014 -- This week, the Arkansas Institute for Performance Excellence (AIPE) honored Baldor Electric, a manufacturer of industrial electric motors, drives and mechanical power transmission products, to receive the Arkansas Governor's Quality Award for Performance Excellence.

The award was presented at AIPE's 2014 Governor's Quality Award and 20th Anniversary Celebration held at the Marriott Hotel Ballroom in Little Rock, Ark., on Monday, Sept. 15. The award is the topmost level available in the quality program and recognizes organizations for demonstrating the highest level of performance excellence through their many operational practices and achievements.

"Winning the Quality Award for Performance Excellence is a tremendous honor. This evaluation process will aid us in strengthening our management processes, because we believe that everything we do can, and should be, improved," said Ron Tucker, Baldor president and CEO. "With the help of this program, we are identifying continuous improvement opportunities which will allow us to take even better care of our customers."
