SAN DIEGO, CA, Jan. 26, 2005 -- Three Valleys Municipal Water District, in Claremont, Calif., has selected management consulting and engineering firm R.W. Beck, Inc. to provide Asset Replacement Planning services.
Project work includes taking inventory of district assets to determine replacement costs, developing useful life and refurbishment intervals, and calculating the necessary annual fund appropriations.
The final report will be presented to the district's board of directors.
This project will enable the district to estimate the cost of infrastructure replacement/refurbishment and provide funding for upgrades as needed.
Additionally, the project team will train the district in facilitating the replacement funding model process developed by R. W. Beck, allowing the district to update the model to account for asset changes.
"Our purpose is to provide the district with an accurate tool to effectively plan for the funding of future assets for the next 50 years," says Paul Johnson, a registered professional engineer and a project engineer for R.W. Beck in San Diego.
