CLEVELAND, OH, July 12, 2005 -- Hexagram Inc., a manufacturer of Fixed Network automatic meter reading (AMR) systems for the water industry, announced yesterday that the Brookline Water & Sewer Division for the town of Brookline, Mass., chose its Star® Wireless Fixed Network AMR System to automate its meter reading system. The Star AMR system, which will be fully operational by December 2006, will read approximately 10,000 meters in Brookline's service area, providing daily reads for all of their customers.
Brookline Water & Sewer Division is seeking to improve customer service. "By establishing an accurate, monthly billing cycle, we will be better able to track our customers' usage patterns and be more proactive on potential problems," explains Andrew Pappastergion, director of Brookline Water & Sewer Division. "The Star AMR System will give us multiple daily reads, which will allow us to have an immediate snapshot of the water delivery system status," continues Pappastergion.
