DUBLIN, CA, April 11, 2005 -- Accela Inc., a provider of government enterprise management software solutions, announced today that Hollywood, Fla., has selected Accela Asset ManagementTM as the city's new maintenance management information system. The system will automate all work orders, inspections, costing, and maintenance schedules for the city's Public Utilities Department. The department is responsible for providing potable water to the citizens of Hollywood and collecting, treating and disposing of wastewater and storm water in an environmentally sound manner.
The software will provide the city with a centralized database, giving employees the ability to share data easily and have access to the most up-to-date information about a particular asset, inspection or work order. The application offers both system-defined and user-defined fields to allow the city to configure the system to meet its specific business requirements. It also will be able to integrate with the city's existing GIS database to provide relevant geographic data about assets and resources.
"Accela's recent entry into the asset management market has proved extremely successful-even when we are up against companies that have been in this space for decades," remarked Dr. Robert P. Lee, Accela's president and CEO. "The application offers agencies a highly flexible and technically superior product that can be scaled to meet the needs of any agency."
The city issued its RFP for the new system in April 2004 and announced Accela's selection in April 2005.
