• Infor Hansen 8 Water chosen to improve infrastructure lifecycle and reduce downtime

ATLANTA, GA, June 9, 2008 -- Infor Public Sector announced that Wessex Water, a provider of 96 million gallons of water per day to 1.2 million customers in the South West of England, has selected Infor Hansen 8 Water, a solution used by more than 200 water utilities worldwide, to manage the lifecycle of its assets and improve customer service levels. The asset management solution will enable Wessex Water to extend the lifespan of its vast infrastructure and reduce equipment malfunctions, delivering substantial efficiency gains.

Hansen 8 Water is part of Infor Public Sector's software offerings designed to meet the operational needs of government entities and other companies who service citizens. With more than 1,600 customers around the world and backed by over 30 years of deep domain expertise, Infor Public Sector offers core solutions such as citizen relationship, asset, property, financial, human capital, and performance management as well as permitting and licensing.

Wessex Water plans to go live on Infor Hansen 8 Water in 2009. The solution, added to Infor's portfolio through the acquisition of Public Sector solutions provider Hansen last year, will provide greater visibility into the performance of its assets and can help Wessex Water operate all equipment at maximum efficiency levels. This is particularly important for a dispersed asset base where faults are difficult to detect and resulting wastage and costs can escalate.

Infor Hansen 8 Water has features which enable major municipalities and other public entities to easily identify and respond to customer concerns. Streamlining communication with its customers helps Wessex Water stay informed of issues impacting their service in a prompt, efficient manner.

Wessex Water chose the Infor Public Sector solution over competition from SAP, Oracle and IBM's Maximo because of its ability to handle complex real-time data, which is fundamental to managing Wessex Water's vast asset register. The solution also easily integrates with the utility's existing applications, which helps to provide Wessex Water with a lower total cost of ownership.

"Water companies face a vast number of challenges and there are immense benefits for those companies which recognize the importance of proactive asset management. Infor Public Sector understood the challenges we face and offered an asset management solution tailored specifically to our requirements," said Dave Elliott, asset management director at Wessex Water. "As the water sector evolves and the need to maximise the lifecycle of assets continues, Infor Public Sector will provide us with greater visibility to ensure we optimize our infrastructure which, in turn, will reduce costs and improve customer service levels."

"Wessex Water is the first UK water company to win the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category, and more recently the first to achieve PAS55 accreditation, the international standard of best practice asset management," said Bob Benstead, vice president, strategic planning, Infor Public Sector. "Infor Hansen 8 Water will enable Wessex Water to improve its high-level of customer service as well as operate more efficiently and extend the life of its assets, ensuring it will continue to be one of the world's finest water utilities well into the future."

Wessex Water is the regional water and sewage treatment business serving an area of the south west of England.

Infor Public Sector delivers a comprehensive suite of integrated, government-specific solutions that drive civic planning and permitting, citizen relationships, asset and work management, utility billing, and regulatory compliance monitoring.
