ATLANTA, GA, Aug 28, 2006 -- Cellnet Technology Inc. today announced its ongoing success in providing automated metering services to WaterOne of Johnson County, KS. WaterOne is the second largest water utility in the state of Kansas and is located in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.

Since deploying automated metering services to over 12,000 commercial and industrial water customers in partnership with Cellnet, WaterOne has reduced meter reading and operational expenses, and enhanced its ability to monitor water consumption of large commercial accounts. Enhanced ability to monitor water consumption was especially beneficial to the utility earlier this summer when several large golf courses were asked to voluntarily reduce irrigation. Because of Cellnet's services, the utility was able to obtain immediate water use data at each golf course site.

Cellnet president and CEO Mike Zito remarked, "We delivered on time and on budget to WaterOne, and we take ongoing satisfaction in helping them reduce operating costs while improving customer service."

WaterOne contracted Cellnet in 2005 to deploy wireless fixed network meter reading for its commercial and industrial water customers. As a long-term services partner, Cellnet delivers on-demand meter reads over its wireless fixed network for WaterOne's growing commercial and industrial water customer community.

Mike Armstrong, WaterOne's General Manager commented, "Our program with Cellnet has given us on-demand access to consumption data for our key commercial and industrial customers and has helped us control operating costs."

WaterOne's rates continue to average below the inflation rate compared to the Kansas City Metropolitan Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Utilities and Fuel. Standards and Poor's recently affirmed its 'AAA' rating on the utility's water revenue refunding bonds outstanding. This rating is the highest rating awarded to a water utility.
