Datamatic captured the award for the category of companies earning between $10 and $50 million in revenues. The Celebration of Enterprise Award program began in 1997 as a way to recognize and encourage local businesses to determine needs, take risks to satisfy those needs and ultimately succeed. Today, the program identifies the most notable up-and-coming privately held companies in Collin County, those that truly "embrace the entrepreneurial spirit."
To be considered for the award, a private company must have its headquarters in Collin County, be financially successful and have met a need in the marketplace even though it required taking a risk. Finalists undergo an extensive review with the winners in four classes announced at a luncheon at the Plano Centre.
Datamatic was recognized for developing technology that leverages current automated meter reading data capture systems to significantly enhance the information's value.
