Nominations are being sought for the Innovative Energy Management Award, to be held in conjunction with the Third Annual Energy Efficiency Forum for the Water & Wastewater Industry. The Award will recognize the best drinking water project and the top wastewater project, as selected by members of the EEF Conference Committee.
To be considered for the award, projects must have been completed by June 1, 2000. The projects must have resulted in either a significant savings in energy or energy costs. Projects may have dealt with treatment systems, distribution/collection system improvements, or environmental controls. Two awards will be presented: one for the most innovative drinking water project and one for the best wastewater project. The utility, suppliers and consultants involved in the projects will be recognized.
Winners will be announced at the Opening Session of the Energy Efficiency Forum, which will be August 27-29 in Philadelphia. Winners will receive a specially engraved award during the ceremony, a framed World of Water poster and will be featured in the October issue of WaterWorld magazine.
The Energy Efficiency Forum is designed for managers, engineers and operators interested in the efficient use of energy in the distribution, collection and treatment of water and wastewater. Key topics for this year?s forum will include reducing energy costs through the use of creative energy management techniques and technologies, plus tips on working with electric and gas suppliers to obtain better rates.
