NAPERVILLE, IL, Feb. 28, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Nalco Company price increases for Industrial and Institutional Services Division customers are expected to vary from 7% to 15% on a broad range of chemical products that are part of the company's customer solution packages.

The price increases are driven by continued significant increases in the cost of raw materials, energy and freight. Nalco's sales engineers will discuss the specific impacts of these increases with individual customers.

"We have clearly seen costs increase faster than prices in the past nine months. These increases are a continuation of price moves we initiated in late 2004, and are specific for certain products and geographic regions that were not targeted earlier. By increasing our prices as costs increase, we can continue to invest in research, manufacturing process improvements and development of our field engineers to enhance the value we create for customers," said Bill Roe, executive vice president and COO.

"In the last year Nalco has introduced new products and services such as 3D Trasar, an advanced treatment and automation program for cooling systems, Coil-Flo, an energy conservation and air quality improvement program for air handling systems, and other leading edge water and process treatment chemistries to help customers better manage their water and process needs."

Nalco (www.nalco.com) is a leading provider of integrated water treatment and process improvement services, chemicals and equipment programs for industrial and institutional applications. With 2004 sales of $3billion, the company currently serves more than 60,000 customer locations representing a broad range of end markets. It has established a global presence with over 10,000 employees operating in 130 countries, supported by a comprehensive network of manufacturing facilities, sales offices and research centers.
