SOUTH SETAUKET, N.Y. Sept. 3, 2002 -- RF Safety Solutions, a provider of consulting services to companies and other organizations concerned with human exposure to radio frequency radiation, has been established by Richard Strickland.
Equipment used in wireless communications, broadcasting, and industrial microwave heating processes are potential sources of harmful RF energy.
Strickland was formerly director of business development for Narda Safety Test Solutions, a manufacturer of RF safety monitoring equipment.
His new firm, where he is CEO, provides training, tools and procedures to help companies minimize RF exposure risks, bring RF exposure levels into regulatory compliance, and reduce corporate liability and risk.
Strickland, an advisor to the FCC and scientific standards organizations on matters involving RF safety, is one the nation's leading experts in this field. While at Narda STS, he headed in-house product development and determined product performance characteristics.
He played a key role in developing the Nardalert XT RF personal monitor, recently named by R & D Magazine as one of top 100 new scientific products in the world this year.
Strickland also developed RF radiation training courses at Narda and has taught more than sixty public and private seminars on RF radiation safety. He has been both a featured speaker and a member of the radio frequency radiation panel at the National Association of Broadcasters, the Radio Club of America, and the International Wireless Conference and Exposition.
