WILTON, Conn, Jan. 2, 2003 -- Viterra Energy Services AG has selected Mercator Software Inc. as its integration solution for several mission-critical applications.
Viterra Energy Services AG is a global services provider for consumption-based billing of energy and water, providing services to more than 300,000 customers, including property managers, utilities and others. Each year, Viterra collects approximately 40 million meter readings and produces over 15 million bills.
Viterra is currently in the process of phasing in a new billing system based on Oracle DB. To ensure no disruption of billing, Viterra is deploying Mercator as the interface between the old billing system, housed on a separate server, and the new Oracle-based system, running the two systems in parallel until the new application is fully operational.
Viterra is also leveraging Mercator to provide the connectivity between its J2EE-based mobile system for gauging energy consumption and the two billing systems, allowing for a seamless flow of data between the three applications.
