WILMINGTON, DE, Oct. 15, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Pulp and Paper Division of Hercules Inc. will initiate price increases in North America of 8-10% for all process and functional products. Some select product lines may have a higher percentage increase due to raw material volatility. This increase is effective Nov. 15.
"Steep escalation of critical raw materials such as benzene, propylene, ethylene, and silicone leave us virtually no alternative. Additionally, freight costs, energy costs and energy-intensive raw materials such as chlorine and caustic are spiraling upward," said Steve Braley, Vice President Sales - North America, Pulp and Paper Division. "Due to the severity and scope of these increases, some products currently under contractual agreements may have price increases prior to the contract expiration date. We will be discussing specific problem areas with all contract customers."
