Jacobs selected for $750M Utah water infrastructure project

Jacobs, in partnership with Bowen Collins & Associates, has been awarded a $750 million contract to upgrade Utah's historic Strawberry High Line Canal.

Jacobs has been selected by the Central Utah Water Conservancy District to provide engineering services for the proposed Strawberry High Line Improvement Project, a program estimated to have a $750 million construction value.

The project would modernize the historic Strawberry High Line Canal by replacing the open-water canal with a buried, pressurized pipeline system. The improvements are intended to strengthen water delivery for agricultural users and growing communities in south Utah County and eastern Juab County.

Originally constructed around 1916 as part of the Strawberry Valley Project, the canal carries water from Strawberry Reservoir and the Spanish Fork River for agricultural and municipal uses. Jacobs, working in a joint venture with Bowen Collins & Associates, is expected to provide design and construction-phase support for the pipeline, a pump station and related infrastructure.

The completed system is expected to support water delivery for a future population of approximately 420,000 people. The project also would incorporate a regional trail along the corridor, adding a recreational and community connectivity component to the water infrastructure improvements.
