NAWC announces new, returning members of board of directors

The National Association of Water Companies officially announced its new board of directors at its 2014 Water Summit in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., held on Oct. 5-8.

WASHINGTON, DC, Oct. 10, 2014 -- The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) officially announced its new board of directors at its 2014 Water Summit in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., held on Oct. 5-8.

Walter Lynch, president and CEO of regulated operations for American Water, has been named president of the NAWC board of directors. Lynch replaces Dennis Doll, chairman, president and CEO of Middlesex Water Company.

Lynch previously served as president of regulated operations and assumed his new, expanded role in 2010. He joined American Water Services in 2001 as president of the Southwest region, overseeing a 12-state region with multiple business lines. He has more than 20 years of experience with expertise in engineering, operations, sales and marketing, regulatory compliance, and business development.

NAWC also welcomes the following new members to its 2015 board of directors:

  • Matthew Stanley, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board, Beckley Water Company
  • Robert Nicholson, President, San Gabriel Valley Water Company
  • Walton Hill, Senior Vice President, United Water

They join the following members returning to NAWC's board of directors:

  • Aldie Warnock, Senior Vice President of External Affairs, Communications and Public Policy, American Water
  • Bernadette Sohler, Vice President – Corporate Affairs, Middlesex Water Company
  • Charles V. Firlotte, President and CEO, Aquarion Water Company

  • Dennis W. Doll, President and CEO, Middlesex Water Company
  • Eric W. Thornburg, Chairman, President and CEO, The Connecticut Water Company
  • Jeffrey Hines, President and CEO, York Water Company

  • Lisa Sparrow, President and CEO, Utilities Inc.
  • Louise Knight, COO, Superior Water Company
  • Michael Quinn, President, SouthWest Water Company
