SAK Construction has announced that it is nearing completion of a $2.9-million contract for the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority to install 4,800 linear feet of 48-inch cured-in-place pipe in sanitary sewer lines that run under the 1757 Golf Club in Dulles, Va.

BALTIMORE, MD, Jan. 27, 2015 -- SAK Construction, LLC (SAK), a provider of trenchless technology and tunneling solutions, has announced that it is nearing completion of a $2.9-million contract for the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) to install 4,800 linear feet of 48-inch cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) in sanitary sewer lines that run under the 1757 Golf Club in Dulles, Va.

According to Bob Stier, general manager of Atlantic Division, the company overseeing the project, DC Water's new operation required SAK to install the CIPP liner through two existing manholes and complete the entire project in only 240 days, without disturbing the golf course. The project, which involves a segment of DC Water's Potomac Interceptor sanitary sewer system, is scheduled for completion in February 2015, five months ahead of schedule.

"This was a challenging project that required SAK to configure the necessary bypass pipelines in a way that would not impact the surrounding areas or operations of the golf course," Stier said. "With our seasoned team of CIPP professionals, we achieved this and have handled additional complexities of the project without delays or disruptions."
