LONDON, UK – Global pump giant Grundfos has teamed up with Billingham-based pump specialist Tomlinson Hall to roll out free Energy Checks across the UK.

The audits are designed to help pump users identify significant cost savings, comply with energy saving regulations and help them to reduce their carbon footprints.

Developed by Grundfos, The Energy Check – which includes a detailed on-site audit – establishes a pump system’s current operation and registers information on pump types, age, flow, head and power usage, and the inspection requires no down time.

Following the Energy Check, end users will receive a comprehensive report, showing the potential savings that could be reached through upgrading all or some of the system to a new energy-efficient solution.

The report will include details such as electricity savings, pay-back time on replacement systems, CO2 emission reductions and life cycle analysis of pump installation.

Rick Child, energy optimisation business development manager at Grundfos, said: “Our experience is that such audits frequently unearth significant savings. These savings regularly mean that payback times can be less than two years, enabling users to upgrade to new, high reliability systems and in many cases at the same time eliminate the risk of depending on potentially obsolete and unsupported pumps.”

Colin Simpson, business development director at Tomlinson Hall, said: “Pumps consume 10 percent of the world’s electricity yet many systems aren’t operating as efficiently as they could do – and are therefore needlessly wasting energy.”

In 2016 Tomlinson Hall was chosen by Grundfos to become a UK partner in its Industry Partner Global Initiative. Tomlinson Hall is now one of only four companies in the UK to operate under the Grundfos Industry Partner Initiative.
