QUEENSLAND, Australia Gold Coast Australia, covering an area of around 3,300km in South East Queensland, will be incorporating TaKaDu’s solution into its network to increase operational efficiency and reduce water loss.

The software is being integrated as part of a strategic move by Gold Coast to invest in its water distribution network, including increasing the number of DMAs (district metered areas) and the introduction of a new SCADA system.

The system will be used to help optimise the use of data collected from different sources.

Paul Heaton, director of Gold Coast Water and Waste, said: “We’re collecting a lot of raw data and wanted to find the best way of analysing it and gaining visibility and knowledge to make smarter decisions. With TaKaDu, we’re able to know about events, measure how much water is being used, manage and resolve incidents, such as leaks, more efficiently, and improve network performance on an areas basis.”

Amir Peleg, TaKaDu’s founder & CEO, said: “Australian utilities are increasingly at the forefront of water efficiency, using data-driven technology to save this scarce and vital resource.”

Gold Coast is the third utility in Queensland deploying TaKaDu, and fifth in Australia.
