MORGANTOWN, WV, August 24, 2001 — A newly redesigned environmental web site offers information on water and wastewater treatment technologies, management strategies and more.
The National Environmental Services Center's (NESC) web site at http://www.nesc.wvu.edu also includes information on financial strategies, current and changing environmental regulations and other issues related to running a small community water and wastewater system. NESC also provides information about environmental training for educators.
Formerly called West Virginia University's Environmental Services and Training Division, NESC is made up of four national programs. Each partner maintains its own section of the Web site.
* National Drinking Water Clearinghouse (NDWC) http://www.ndwc.wvu.edu
* National Small Flows Clearinghouse (NSFC) http://www.nsfc.wvu.edu
* National Environmental Training Center for Small Communities (NETCSC) http://www.netcsc.wvu.edu
* National Onsite Demonstration Program (NODP) http://www.nodp.wvu.edu
The new NESC Web site offers online services just like those web surfers already count on, such as access to its free environmental magazines and newsletters, free and low-cost products, database searches, and technical assistance. They also provide online discussion groups for interactive conversations about small community environmental problems.
