Georgia city renews wastewater contract with CH2M HILL OMI

DENVER, CO, Sept. 14, 2007 -- Building on a partnership that has prospered for more than a decade, the city of Vienna, Ga., has selected CH2M HILL OMI to continue operating and maintaining its wastewater treatment system for another 15 years.

The contract was signed at the end of August and took effect Sept. 1.

Since Sept. 1994, CH2M HILL OMI has managed the city's 1.5-million-gallon-per-day wastewater treatment facility, an industrial wastewater pump station, two groundwater wells, and an elevated water storage tank. The facility provides water to a poultry processing plant and treats its industrial wastewater. The company also land-applies effluent onto 224 acres of hay fields.

Under CH2M HILL OMI's management, the facility earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's national O&M excellence award in 2000 in the small, non-discharging category.

Located about 130 miles southeast of Atlanta, Vienna has about 3,000 people and is the county seat of Dooly County. It is one of more than 30 Georgia companies and municipalities that have selected CH2M HILL OMI as a business partner.
