Black & Veatch announces new vice president of enterprise consulting

Black & Veatch has announced the appointment of Mike Elzey as vice president of its newly created Enterprise Consulting Division.


Overland Park, Kan., March 19, 2003 -- Black & Veatch has announced the appointment of Mike Elzey, formerly a director with PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting Services Practice, as vice president of its newly created Enterprise Consulting Division.

Elzey will be responsible for the division's product development, its information services group and business development functions. Black & Veatch's Enterprise Consulting Division offers a full range of consulting services to electric and water utilities, including portfolio management, business transformation, global restructuring, asset optimization and renovation program management.

"In his new role, Mike will be charged with expanding our management consulting solutions and integrating them with the technical expertise Black & Veatch has established throughout its 88-year history of solving clients' toughest challenges," said Rodger E. Smith, president of Black & Veatch's Enterprise Consulting Division.

Elzey has more than 20 years of energy and utility industry management/engineering and consulting experience. Most recently, Elzey was a director in the energy and utilities service line with PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting Services Practice. Elzey's responsibilities included development and delivery of the company's energy-related service offerings by managing vision and strategy, market message and penetration, revenue generation, profit margins, cash flow, personnel hiring, growth, retention and vendor relationships.

Prior to PricewaterhouseCoopers, Elzey held various management and executive positions at subsidiaries of Asea Brown Boveri and Babcock & Wilcox over a 10-year period. Additionally, Mike started his career as a nuclear propulsion officer in the U.S. Navy serving aboard a fast attack submarine where he achieved the qualification of Chief Engineer.
