VISTA, CA, Nov. 18, 2008 -- Speaking at Chicago's Union League Club Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2008, CNN founder Ted Turner says his chain of restaurants, Ted's Montana Grill, plans to promote all things Green, including using recycled paper products, reducing gas and energy use, and even installing waterless urinal systems.

"One waterless urinal in the men's room saves 40,000 gallons a year," says Turner. "Isn't that incredible?"

At the same time, Global Green, an award-winning organization dedicated to promoting and fostering sustainability, is focusing much more attention on water conservation as well.

According to the organization, about one in five people around the world do not have access to fresh drinking water. Additionally, water concerns in the United States are mounting.

Drought conditions, now occurring in traditionally water-rich areas, are one source of the nation's water supply issues. And, according to Global Green, poor or declining water management programs are proving to be a factor as well.

"Both Turner and Global Green have been very active in promoting Green products and encouraging water conservation," says Klaus Reichardt, founder and managing partner of Waterless No-FlushT, manufacturers of urinals and other restroom products. "Recently, Global Green even selected a Waterless soybean urinal for use in their offices."

According to Reichardt, interest in water conservation has jumped significantly in recent years. "It's [all] part of the Green movement, and I think we are only at the beginning of this water conservation revolution," he says.
