March 4, 2015 -- Magnetrol International, Inc., a specialist in level and flow measurement instrumentation, has announced that it recently expanded and opened several key locations.
With offices and manufacturing plants worldwide, Magnetrol completed facility improvements on three continents in 2014, with U.S. headquarters in Aurora, Ill., and leading operations in Zele, Belgium, and Dubai, UAE. The company also has manufacturing facilities in Louisiana, Connecticut, New York, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Shanghai, China.
Citing growth in its core markets of oil and gas, power generation and petrochemical refining in key global geographic regions, the privately-held, 83-year-old company underwent the significant, multi-year expansion projects to manufacture closer to their customers in order to better meet their needs with increased capacity, better lead times and more efficient supply chain management.
A specialist in liquid level instrumentation for process industries, Magnetrol provides innovative product and service solutions that address current and emerging industry trends. Its global expansion efforts enable the company to address next-generation customer demands and position itself against the competition.
Magnetrol's Aurora, Ill., headquarters was the largest of the three recent expansion projects. To accommodate growth, the company moved its headquarters from Downers Grove, Ill., to the Aurora location -- originally a warehouse facility -- which gave the level and flow control technology manufacturer the opportunity to dramatically enhance workflow patterns in the plant, using efficient manufacturing process design.
Magnetrol's expanded European facility has the distinction of being one of the first industrial buildings in Belgium to earn BREEAM certification, the European standard for sustainable building design, construction and operation. This expansion was a build-out of Magnetrol's original Belgium facility, housing all European manufacturing, sales and administration operations.
It also represents roughly a doubling of production capacity, with improved conferencing, demonstration and training areas, as well as industry-standard paint booths, dry zones and sandblasting cabins and a new 1-ton capacity bridge crane.
The Dubai location has grown from a sales office to a site that also manufactures external chamber devices, operating under the ISO 9001 umbrella of Magnetrol's Belgium offices. Expanding the capabilities of the Dubai location in the Jebel Ali Free Zone offers several benefits to customers in the Middle East.
