WATERBURY, CT, November 21, 2002 -- Thanks to the fans of Haestad Methods' CivilQuiz.com, the civil engineering quiz was broadcast nationally to more than a million public radio listeners by Michael Feldman, the joking host of the popular public radio show, "Whad'Ya Know?"

Produced by Wisconsin Public Radio, Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know? is a two-hour comedy/quiz/interview show that is dynamic, varied, and for the most part quite funny. Host and quizmaster Michael Feldman invites contestants to answer questions drawn from his seemingly limitless store of information, but this time he was the one in the hot seat.

Michael Feldman took the CivilQuiz and then put the questions to the audience. The radio show host chose Culvert Design as his topic, scored a dismal 0 out of 5 in answering questions, and then totally flubbed the bonus question. The audience broke out in laughter when he asked the question, "Which hydraulic profile is associated with a culvert operating at critical slope?"

Each month, CivilQuiz.com challenges thousands of engineers to answer engineering knowledge and trivia questions in the field of hydraulics and hydrology. Each winner of the monthly "click & win" quiz receives a prize and is automatically entered into a drawing for top-of-the-line prizes, such as laptop computers, digital cameras, GPS StreetPilots, and much more.

When company officials were asked for their reaction, Keith Hodsden, P.E., Director of Sales for Haestad Methods, replied: "After listening to this segment I now have greater appreciation for the importance of engineering licensing. I would hate to drive over a roadway served by a drainage system designed by Mr. Feldman."
