Tetra Tech awarded $16 million in new federal water protection programs

Tetra Tech was selected to receive four new water protection contracts from federal agencies worth a combined $16 million.

PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 3, 2002 -- Tetra Tech was selected to receive four new water protection contracts from federal agencies worth a combined $16 million.

Under all four contracts, the company will provide technical services to help federal agencies protect the nation's water resources. The contracts are all indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity multi-year contracts.

About the Postal Services Contract (www.usps.com)

Tetra Tech was awarded a $5 million, 5-year contract with the U.S. Postal Service to provide technical services in the southeastern states of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Tennessee. The scope of services includes water resources protection, pollution prevention, and a wide range of other technical services.

About the DOE Grand Junction Contract (www.doegjpo.com)

Tetra Tech is part of a team to provide technical services to the U.S. Department of Energy Grand Junction Office, and was awarded a subcontract from the prime contractor valued by the Company at approximately $5 million over five years.

The Grand Junction project, among other things, addresses potential water contamination originating from former uranium mill tailing sites located in 18 states. Tetra Tech will provide technical expertise to the project team including hydrogeology, water transport modeling, geochemistry, and environmental engineering. One project site to be addressed under the contract is the sensitive Moab, Utah site, a former uranium processing facility on the banks of the Colorado River near two National Parks.

About the Corps of Engineers Contracts (www.usace.army.mil)

Tetra Tech was selected for two similar $3 million, 3-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts with the Los Angeles District and Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Under the Los Angeles District contract, Tetra Tech will help provide watershed management, watershed restoration, and other technical services in Southern California. Under the Seattle District contract, Tetra Tech will provide similar services, and will also provide river restoration efforts in the Pacific Northwest.
