Woodard & Curran Brings on Sue Guswa to Deepen Strong Wastewater Program

In September 2016, Susan Guswa joined Woodard & Curran as a Senior Technical Leader in the Sanitary Wastewater Service Line. In this role, she will work directly with clients to implement solutions to some of the most challenging wastewater issues, provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary teams working on municipal infrastructure projects, and help drive innovation in the firm’s municipal wastewater practice.


“Sue’s 20-plus years of experience, ability to combine strategic insight and engineer’s eye for detail make her an ideal addition to our team,” said Tom Hazlett, Woodard & Curran’s Sanitary Wastewater Service Line Leader. “Our engineers and our clients will both benefit from her expertise and leadership.”


Most recently, Guswa spent 13 years at Tighe & Bond as a Senior Engineer. In this position, she served as the project manager and design engineer for major wastewater upgrades throughout New England. She was also Tighe & Bond’s Wastewater Technical Practice Group Leader. Guswa began her career in California with Metcalf & Eddy and then worked for Kennedy/Jenks before joining Tighe & Bond. Her experience includes wastewater, water reuse, and stormwater with a focus on comprehensive planning, treatment and nutrient removal.


Guswa holds a bachelor of science degree in civil and environmental engineering from Duke University and a master of science degree in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford University. She is an active member of professional water quality organizations, including Water Environment Federation (WEF) and New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA).


Guswa will serve clients from Woodard & Curran’s Enfield, CT office.
