PASADENA, CA, Dec. 30, 2013 -- The island country of Sri Lanka will soon receive an integrated water supply program for the city of Badulla and surrounding communities of Ella and Haliela.
Designed and completed by Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK), a provider of consulting, engineering, construction and technical services, the project will include the completion of a new water supply treatment plant including storage tanks, pumping stations, a dam and impoundment reservoir, water intake structures, and transmission and distribution pipelines for the region.
On Wednesday, Dec. 18, Tetra announced it has been awarded a $74 million contract principally financed by the United States Export-Import bank for the Sri Lanka National Water Supply and Drainage Board to carry out the project. The company will also rehabilitate two existing treatment plants during the three and one-half year contract period.
