September 18, 2001 -- Due to the circumstances arising out of the recent tragic events, I-PRO EXPO has announced that it must cancel I-PRO EXPO, scheduled for October 4-5, 2001 in Miami Beach, FL.

This decision is based upon a number of prevailing conditions out of conference organizers' control. These include, but are not limited to, international travel restrictions, domestic airport shutdowns, federal embargoes on freight and passengers coming into the U.S., and the inability of the industry to travel to and within the U.S.

The I-PRO management team and Process Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA), the event sponsor, conducted numerous conversations with exhibitors, attendees, conferees, conference speakers, media outlets and service providers that garnered information that further supported the decision to cancel the event.

In light of this national tragedy, the I-PRO EXPO Show management has decided to waive all conditions for reimbursement as indicated in exhibitor contracts, and credit exhibitors the full 100% of their current payment to any of the Powder family of events, including IPRO 2002, scheduled for October 16-17, or INTERPHEX events. Attendance and conference registration fees will also be refunded.

Based on the information available at this time, it appears that airline carriers are waiving penalties for cancellations. Passengers are encouraged to contact booking agents for the most up-to-date status of a carrier's current cancellation penalty policies. In coming days Reed Exhibitions and PEMA officials will meet and deliberate processes and procedures to move forward.
